RULES AND REGULATIONS
Regulations on Flowers and Decorations
If you have any questions, please contact the cemetery office. We appreciate hearing from you. This enables us to review and improve our service to you and all of the families using the cemeteries.
The cemetery is a public place; people come and go from dawn to dusk, seven days a week. As a result, we are not able to protect attractive items from theft. In making choices, it is unfortunate, but necessary to keep this in mind.
Flower and Ornament Policy
Safety is paramount. Decorations need to be safe for those who visit the cemeteries and for the cemetery workers and the equipment. To insure this, all decorations must be placed in a cemetery approved vase, be consistent with the Catholic Faith and should not exceed 3 feet in height. Items such as glass, pottery, statuary, wooden crosses, candles, photographs, metal items, memorabilia or non biodegradable items are not permitted on, or adjacent to, any burial space, crypt, tree, landscaped area, or any memorial, monument, feature or statuary. They will be removed and dispossed of as soon as they are observed. Open flames are prohibited in any of the cemeteries. This includes such items as candles, fires or barbeques.
Cutting into the lawn, placement of fencing, plants, and borders around graves are not permitted. No landscaping plants or materials are to be removed or added to the cemetery grounds. Splicing into the irrigation system is not permitted.
Decoration Removal
Decorations may be removed under any of the following conditions.
-
Each year, on the last week of January and the last week of July, for general clean-up. Please mark these days on your family calendar.
-
Seasonal decorations will be removed ten days after major holidays.
-
When cemetery rules and regulations are violated.
-
At certain times of the year, as the desert southwest experiences high winds and torrential rains, flowers may be blown from vases.
-
The cemetery reserves the right to remove all flowers and decorations when they become withered or unsightly. The grounds superintendent will make removals when they impede normal grounds maintenance.
